Kristian Vigenin : Bulgaria highly appreciates the francophone solidarity

Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin and the Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of the International Organization of la Francophonie, Pierre de Cocatrix, unanimously emphasized the active political and diplomatic activities of the OIF. At the meeting, Minister Vigenin expressed high appreciation of the support that the Organization has always lent to Bulgaria and the region, as well as satisfaction with the Francophone regular consultations within the major international forums.
Kristian Vigenin pointed out that the solutions to many problems can be achieved within the Francophonie . “In recent years we are taking into serious consideration the activities within the OIF and we are one of the most active countries in Central and Eastern Europe," added the Foreign Minister, stressing that the country will support and participate in the initiatives of the Francophonie.
“Bulgaria is a significant factor in the Francophonie in Central and Eastern Europe," said Pierre de Cocatrix and served greetings on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria’s membership in OIF on behalf of the Secretary-General of the OIF Abdou Diouf who relies on the activity of Bulgaria. He expressed satisfaction with the Organization for the re-election of Irina Bokova for a second term as Director-General of UNESCO, whose nomination was supported by the member states of the Francophonie .
The Head of the Office of the Secretary-General of OIF highlighted the role of the francophone centers and antennas in Bulgaria, as well as the successful training program for civil servants. He presented the future priorities and programs of OIF and expressed hope that Bulgaria will continue to participate actively in enhancing the role of the Francophonie.
