Deputy Minister Kondov took part in a working meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers in the B-9 format in Brussels, Belgium

On 26 May 2024, a working dinner of the Foreign Ministers of the B-9 format countries, a multilateral format for consultations on security issues of NATO Eastern Flank countries, was held in Brussels. Bulgaria was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov.
The countries discussed progress on strengthening the forward defence of the Eastern flank and the current situation in Ukraine as part of preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Washington in July this year. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine in response to Russian military aggression and the need for allied unity and solidarity to strengthen it. They highlighted the importance of strengthening deterrence and defence capabilities on the Eastern flank in response to the long-term threat from Russia.
