The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and University of Ruse ‘Angel Kanchev’ signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel and Academician Hristo Beloev, Rector of the University of Ruse ‘Angel Kanchev’ signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The aim is to provide learning, experience and career development opportunities for students.
‘Today is an important day for the future young diplomats — the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opens its doors to the students of the University of Ruse. The Memorandum is a clear vision of the need to invest in the development of young people right from the start of their education. With it, we are telling young people that we need their ideas and their desire to contribute to Bulgaria’s worthy position on the European and international stage’, Mariya Gabriel said.
University of Ruse ‘Angel Kanchev’ is the third higher education institution with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum, after Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE). The organization of student internships and meetings with diplomats, holding joint trainings, round tables and conferences, raising professional qualifications through the presentation of real cases and problems from practice are among the planned activities. The aim is to establish a close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the University of Ruse to facilitate the career development of students, both during their studies and in their subsequent professional career.
‘The world of diplomacy needs the ideas and talent of the new generation. The signing of the Memorandum is another opportunity for students to share their vision of a career in diplomacy. We welcome the innovative and critical thinking of young people. I am glad that together with the University of Ruse we will work together to exchange experiences and incorporate ideas and youth perspective in diplomacy. Let us together defend Bulgaria’s worthy place in the dynamically developing world and turn challenges into opportunities for students, universities and Bulgaria,’ the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
