Christmas reception for the wives of the ambassadors, accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria, was held today at the National Art Gallery. The event was hosted by the wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Milena Angelova.

On the eve of the forthcoming holidays, Dr. Angelova greeted the guests with welcome to Bulgaria. She told the legend of the great Christian holiday “Ignazhden,” which is celebrated tomorrow. According to the tradition, the first guest to cross the home’s thresholdon this daywill determine what the next year will be for the family and the household."I am glad to welcome you in this beautiful hall on the eve of the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. Seeing all of you here today, with so much positive energy, I know that next year will be better and fruitful," said the hostess. She sent wishes for bright Christmas holidays and a more successful and positive 2014.

The event was organized for a charitable purpose and the funds raised will be donated to the children of artists and applied artists of the community centers in the city of Sofia. The children from the "Svetlina 1906" community center in Kremikovtzi, "Roden krai 1931" in the Gevgeliyski neighborhood and "Pencho Slaveykov 1919" in Malashevtsi had prepared with much love twigs, ritual bread and traditional Bulgarian souvenirs. The guests had the opportunity to take with them part of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian traditions.

The rich in rhythm Bulgarian dances and music were presented by the Dance Ensemble to the Association of Community Centers in Bulgaria. Carol-singers with hooded cloaks and decorated caps recreated the traditional Bulgarian custom “Koleduvane”.
