Newly appointed Bulgarian ambassadors to Italy and NATO underwent hearing by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly

Parliament’sForeign Affairs Committee held a hearing today of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Italy, Marin Raykov, and Permanent Representative to NATO, Ambassador Ivan Naydenov.

 

Development of bilateral relations, the interaction of Bulgaria and Italy within the EU and NATO are among the priorities of Ambassador Marin Raykov. “It is also important to me to with the large Bulgarian community in the Apennines, which is a natural bridge between the two countries," he told MPs. Traditionally there are good cultural relations between the two countries and peoples while in this area there is still much to be done, Raykov said.

 

Bulgaria’s active participation in NATOand the country’s contribution to the reform of the organization in support of collective security will be among the highlights of the work of Ambassador Ivan Naydenov. “Bulgaria is a predictable and reliable allyand full participant in all missions of the Alliance and will continue to be so,” he said.
