Deputy Minister Nevyana Miteva appointed National Coordinator for Combating Anti-Semitism

16 May 2024 News

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nevyana Miteva has been appointed by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitar Glavchev as national coordinator for combating anti-Semitism.

By virtue of a Council of Ministers Decision of 2022, the position of National Coordinator is established at the level of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, appointed by order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This ensures continuity and better coordination of efforts to counter anti-Semitism. The institutionalization of the post of the National Coordinator for Combating Anti-Semitism also fulfils one of the commitments made by Bulgaria at the International Conference on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Anti-Semitism held in Malmö in 2021.

Bulgaria will continue to work within the framework of international organisations and in cooperation with its partners to counter all forms of discrimination and intolerance, including contemporary manifestations of anti-Semitism.
