Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov today received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Bulgaria, Marieta Garcia Jordan. He welcomed her and wished her success in her highly responsible mission.
In the course of this first conversation between the two, the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Cuba and the friendship that binds the two peoples were highlighted.
During the review of bilateral relations, emphasis was placed on the common desire to intensify trade and economic ties in various areas of mutual interest, among which the Cuban ambassador pointed to mining, biotechnology, informatics and others. He also stressed that the Cubans have not forgotten the quality of the Bulgarian products nor the Bulgarian specialists who worked in Cuba and that our country could benefit from this fact.
In the context of the forthcoming EU-LAC Summit, the role of cooperation between the two regions was noted as an additional source of opportunities for deepening interaction both multilaterally and bilaterally.
