Deputy Minister Velislava Petrova welcomed students from the German Language School “Goethe” – Burgas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova welcomed students from the German Language School “Goethe” – Burgas with a message for greater involvement of young people in the political processes in our country. Together with the Director of the Diplomatic Institute Tanya Mihaylova, Deputy Minister Petrova received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a group of high school students participating in the project “Women in politics – the role of women in diplomacy”.

“Each of you can forge your own path and it does not always have to be the path set by others. You have the most important task not to stop learning,” Deputy Minister Petrova said. The Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Tanya Mihaylova, also urged the young people to lifelong learning and singled out Deputy Minister Petrova as one of the most successful examples of the participation of young people and women in politics.

The main message of the meeting also stressed the need for a more active involvement of the civil society in the development of public policies, as well as the need for development of critical thinking within the educational process. The Director of the Foreign Policy Planning, Information and Coordination Directorate, Emil Yalnazov, also spoke with the students and defined peace as an absolute priority of the contemporary world. The Director of the Situation Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anton Markov also attended the meeting.
