Deputy Minister Churov to participate in the General Affairs Council
18 March 2014 Diplomatic CalendarDeputy Foreign Minister Todor Churov will participate in the meeting of the EU General Affairs Council which will be held on 18 March 2014 in Brussels. Ministers will prepare the European Council meeting on 20-21 March. The main topics of discussion are associated with the measures to boost growth, competitiveness and employment, with a focus on energy and climate change, the competitiveness of the European industry and the completion of the first phase of the European Semester.
Within the Council, the European Commission will present its communication on the framework for strengthening the application of the principles of rule of law in the Member States. A major emohasis in it is placed on the EC led dialogue, the preparation of recommendations and follow-up assessment of the Member State for which the Commission has concluded that there is a real and systematic risk of non application of the rule of law.
