International donor conference on Syria
30 January 2013 Diplomatic CalendarOn January 30, the Foreign Minister will take part in the first-ever high-level international conference on gathering humanitarian aid for Syria, to be held in the capital of Kuwait. The forum, being hosted by the Emir of Kuwait, will be presided over by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. It is expected that high-level representatives of about 60 countries, a number of regional organisations and UN agencies will take part. Minister Mladenov will present the decision by the Government to provide humanitarian aid of a sum of 300 000 leva towards the activities of the World Food Programme in Syria.
