Travel advice for those travelling to Japan

We recommend that Bulgarian citizens do not travel to Japan, unless absolutely necessary. Those in the country should avoid long stays in the region of Tohoku and should strictly follow advices by the Japanese authorities. The situation in the nuclear power plant Fukushima 1 continues to be critical, although radiation levels gradually decrease. The decision of the Japanese Agency for Nuclear Safety to increase the level of the nuclear crisis from fifth to the highest-seventh on 12 April, reflects the full scale of the accident and not a temporary escalation of the situation.
