Man who saved child in the UK from drowning was a Bulgarian ...

According to official information received today from the British police, Bulgarian national Plamen Petkov saved a five-year-old girl from drowning. The incident took place on Saturday May 26 2012 in West Wittering in southern England. Unfortunately, Mr Petkov failed to reach the shore and was removed from the water unconscious by others at the scene. Despite the efforts of the medical team that arrived, he died.
 
Plamen Petkov was born in Vratsa on December 10 1979.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the Bulgarian citizen on his tragic death. The Bulgarian Embassy in London is providing full support to his relatives.
