Snow blockade in Romania continues for a second day

The situation in Romania continues to be difficult after the heavy snowfalls of recent days.
The National Meteorological Administration of Romania has kept in force the Code Orange warning in Tulcea and Constanta County. In these areas the wind speed will be 80 to 90km/h, which will lead to poor visibility and large snow drifts on the roads.
The Ministry of Regional Development and the Association of Tourism Companies in Romania have set up a joint headquarters, the goal of which is to assist tourists in the country’s winter resorts.
From 1.30pm today, border officials at the Beket border checkpoint have begun to allow truck over the border towards the ferry and to allow access to Bulgarian territory. Transportation is being carried out by two ferries, Bulgarian and Romanian. At 2pm, one of the ferries began to unload trucks at the Oryahovo checkpoint.
The Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest has been in continuing contact with the Romanian authorities and Bulgarians in Romania. There is currently no information about Bulgarians being injured.
