Postal card validation dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Vietnam

A ceremony on the validation of a postal card dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was held today at the Museum of Communications in Sofia.
The postal card validation commemorates the date February 8, 1950, when Bulgaria recognizes the government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam as the country's legitimate government and this established the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The postal card was validated by Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Poriazov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Valery Borisov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Bulgaria Le Duc Luu.
In his statement at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Valentin Poriazov underscored the traditional relations of close friendship and fruitful cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam, built over more than six decades, which today are a sound basis for the development of bilateral ties towards a strategic partnership, in the spirit of the Joint declaration adopted by the presidents of the two countries in October 2013.
Ambassador Le Duc Luu expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and the Embassy of SR Vietnam in Bulgaria for the initiative of the Bulgarian government to validate a postal card and addressed the main aspects in the development of the bilateral relations.
The circulation of postal-philatelic edition is 764 and will be distributed in the country’s post office network. The design and layout are work of artist Plamena Doncheva.
The ceremony is part of a series of events in both countries, marking in 2015 the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Presidents, chairs of parliaments, prime ministers and foreign ministers of Bulgaria and Vietnam exchanged greeting on the anniversary.
