Regional cooperation and good neighbour relations - priority following elections in Macedonia
06 June 2011 News
On the occasion of the recently held parliamentary elections in the Republic of Macedonia, the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nickolay Mladenov has stated:
"The snap parliamentary elections, which took place in the Republic of Macedonia yesterday, were organized in a democratic manner and conducted in calm atmosphere, albeit the intense pre-election campaign. This gives us additional grounds to expect the consolidation of democracy and acceleration of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. I hope that the newly elected Macedonian parliament and government will work even more actively towards regional cooperation and good neighbour relations. There are important issues facing the country, which await their solution in the interest of its European future. Bulgaria will continue to support the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of our neighbours and of the entire region of the Western Balkans."
