The partnership between EU and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf is of strategic importance

"In order to become more effective, the dialogue between EU and the Arab Persian Gulf states needs to be restructured by issues and areas of cooperation", Nickolay Mladenov said. The Bulgarian Foreign Minister participated in the 21th session of the joint council between the European Union and the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG).
“The partnership between EU and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf is of strategic importance”, Mladenov said.
During the forum, the Bulgarian top diplomat held talks with his counterparts from Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and other participants. Economic cooperation, political dialogue and investment promotion were the main topics addressed by Mladenov.
The meeting involved foreign ministers and senior officials from the six Arab Gulf states and 27 member countries of the EU, headed by Catherine Ashton, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the EU.
