Nelson Mandela blazed through the history of all mankind

06 December 2013 News

Nelson Mandela was one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, a person who blazed through the history not only of South Africa but of all mankind. It is rare that in the history of the world that a man with his charisma, perseverance, ideas and values has been able to so radically change the lives of millions of people, the organization of a country and of whole societies.

This was said in the letter of condolences sent today by  Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin to South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane on the death of the former South African President and anti-apartheid campaigner Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela became a symbol of the human struggle for freedom, democracy and dignity. He was not only a political leader but a spiritual and moral leader, the letter says.

President Mandela and the people of South Africa have gone through years of hard challenges, but together have achieved their great purpose - to put an end to the apartheid system of discrimination and humiliation, and to build a state based on equal opportunities, human rights and the pursuit of social and economic prosperity for all citizens without distinction of colour, ethnicity, religion or gender, is written in the letter of Minister Vigenin.
