On 16 August 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ivan Kondov, received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Sofia, H.E. Mr. Paul Lambert.
In the course of the talks, Deputy Minister Kondov and Ambassador Lambert highly appreciated the relations between the two countries and committed themselves to building on the cooperation on key issues, both bilaterally and within the EU, NATO and other international formats.
A mutual desire was expressed to deepen the partnership in areas of mutual interest where there is significant potential, including the business sector, bilateral trade, investment, science and education.
During the talks were also discussed issues related to the accession of our country to the OECD, the Eurozone and the Schengen area on land borders, as well as the organization of the upcoming early parliamentary elections.
