The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited international observers for the elections for Members of Parliament on October 2, 2022

In fulfilment of its commitments under the Election Code, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued invitations for international observation of the elections for Members of Parliament in the Republic of Bulgaria scheduled for October 2, 2022. Our Permanent Representation in Vienna sent notes verbales of invitations to the participating States, the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Invitations were also extended to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), through our Permanent Representation in Strasbourg, and to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PACIS) through our Consulate General in Istanbul. If these organizations express a desire, the MFA will propose to the CEC the registration of their representatives as international observers of the upcoming elections.
Guaranteeing fair, free and democratic elections, according to the highest international standards, is a priority for the Republic of Bulgaria, while ensuring all necessary sanitary conditions in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
