Minister Mladenov talked with the Director of the American Jewish Committee

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nickolay Mladenov met with a delegation of the American Jewish Committee, headed by its Executive Director David Harris. The discussions focused on the development of Bulgarian-US and Bulgarian-Israeli relations, as well as on the state of the relations between Bulgaria and the Jewish communities. Other topics discussed included the Euro-Atlantic integration of the countries in the Western Balkans, the situation in the Middle East, Iran’s nuclear programme and the mission of the international forces for maintaining security in Afghanistan.
The American Jewish Committee expressed readiness to implement further initiatives to popularise Bulgaria’s contribution to the saving of the Bulgarian Jews.
