Wine technologist and artisan cheese maker

I was born in the town of Gabrovo. I graduated with a Master's degree from the University of Food Technologies in Plovdiv, majoring in Food Technology. I worked at various food companies, including being a chief technologist at one of the largest companies for production of dairy products in Bulgaria. In 2008 I arrived in Australia, where I had been offered a job at a winery for a few months. I later received sponsorship from my employers for a visa to work and live in Australia. In 2015, I became an Australian citizen. I currently live in the city of Seymour, which is located in downtown Victoria. I continue to work in winemaking as a technologist in one of the wine cellars in the area.

In my free time I make cheese, which I sell to restaurants in the city where I live. I like Australia, its people, beautiful nature and its endless beaches.

In the picture I am with my white Labrador Bradles, who was a faithful friend until he was 15 years old.

The story is from the book “Bulgarians in Melbourne” (2017) from Radost Racheva, who is also author of the photographs, provided pro bono for the project.
