As from 1 March 2020, road vehicles with a total technically permissible maximum weight exceeding 3,5 tonnes circulating on paid road sections in Bulgaria will have to pay for their use distance-based road charges – toll. The toll replaces the electronic vignette for heavy vehicles and buses.

Working visit of Ambassador Rumen Alexandrov to Leeuwarden at the invitation of the King’s Commissioner for Friesland Mr Arno Brok
On December 13, 2019, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Rumen Alexandrov conducted a working visit to Leeuwarden at the invitation of the King’s Commissioner for Friesland Mr. Arno Brok. The aim of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between Bulgaria and the Netherlands, including at municipality level, in order to increase mutually beneficial investments, share good practices, strengthen bilateral contacts in the field of education, cultural diplomacy and people-to-people contacts.

On November 13, 2019 in the city of Leiden, The Kingdom of the Netherlands, was held the annual edition of the so-called Japanese Table Events, organized by the Dutch United Nations Student Association and the University of Leiden. For second year in a row the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria took part in the initiative, which was conducted at Leiden City Hall under the patronage of Mr. Paul Dirkse, Deputy Mayor of Leiden for knowledge, education, sport and finance.
