Тhe opening hours of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in The Hague are as follows:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00 to 12.00 -to apply for a new passport,ID-card, Temporary passport, visa; issuing notarial certifications /power of attorney; applications for the acquisition or release оf Bulgarian citizenship.

  • Wednesday from 13.00 to 16.00 Visiting hours to pick up passport/ID card only!

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in The Hague works only by appointment. Every citizen who needs consular support is required to timely contact the Consulate, requesting an appointment for available date and time slot. All information about procedures and documentation can be obtained by calling 070 358 46 88 every working day between 14.00 and 16.00. The same goes for requesting an appointment. An appointment can also be requested via our consular e-mail address: [email protected]. Picking up passports/ID cards does not require an appointment.

Citizens who visit the Consular Section without prior appointment may only be attended in cases of duly proven urgency.

The main telephone number of the Embassy namely 070 350 30 51and the emergency number are used only for communication with the Bulgarian and the Dutch authorities.

Electronic application forms for Bulgarian identity documents /passports, ID cards and temporary passports/ has been brought into use as of 14 August 2017 .

The application form may also be filled in on the spot at the consular office in case of emergency - stolen or lost documents only for Bulgarian nationals temporarily residing in the Netherlands.

Urgent cases of citizens permanently residing in the Netherlands are medical and other extreme, unforeseen circumstances for which there is a medical document or a police report or in case of an imminent threat for their life and health.
