Тhe Consulate General in New York hosted the screening of the documentary “A Question of Survival” by the talented Bulgarian producer and director Elka Nikolova оn April 24, 2023. The event was held in the context of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews during World War II.

The Consul General of Bulgaria in New York Mr. Angel Angelov took part in a forum organized by the New York City Bar Association, dedicated to the Holocaust and the fight against antisemitism in historical and contemporary contexts on April 19th, 2023 . The event lasted more than three hours and was held in the executive hall of the Association's historic building in Manhattan. Around one hundred members of the New York City Bar Association and representatives of the American Jewish community attended the event. The Association was founded in 1870 and has over 23,000 members.

On April 18, 2023, the Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York hosted the traditional annual Benefit Concert for the initiative Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York. The concert was organized with the financial support of the American Foundation for Bulgaria, Robert and Nellie Gipson and Liane McAllister.

The Center for Jewish History hosted a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the rescue of 50 000 Bulgarian Jews during WWII and in honor of all the victims of the Holocaust!

On March 16, 2023, the Consulate General hosted the screening of the Bulgarian feature film “Holiday Makers” directed by Ivaylo Penchev. The film was presented by its cinematographer Hristo Bakalov.
