Bulgarian cultural events in New York

During the months of May-June 2024, the Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York and the Bulgarian community in the northeastern states of the USA organized various cultural and educational events. Among them are: - May 1 - The emblematic cultural initiative for the Bulgarian community, Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a concert. The central role was played by the world-famous musicians Bela Hristova (violin), Lora Chekoratova (piano) and Anna Stoycheva (piano). The Consul General in New York, Angel Angelov, together with the founders of the American Foundation for Bulgaria (Diko Mihov and Ted Vassilev) were recognized by the Initiative for their contribution to Bulgarian culture and art and received honorary plaques.

The traditionally active cooperation of the Consulate General in New York with American Jewish organizations and with the Consulate General of Israel in New York continued after the series of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during the Holocaust.
