On June 5, 2023, the Consulate General in New York hosted a reception organized by the Teach for Bulgaria educational initiative with the support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation. The event was held in the context of the priorities of the Consulate General to support Bulgarian education in the Northeastern states and in Bulgaria.

Trayan Trayanov, Executive Director, and Neli Kocheva, Head of Development and Fundraising Department, presented to the guests the goals, plans and achievements so far of the initiative in support of Bulgarian education.

During the event, Pavlina Yanakieva, executive director of Bulgarian Innovation Hub, Inc., the partner organization of the Teach for Bulgaria initiative, introduced the guests to the work of the organization and its efforts to promote cooperation between entrepreneurs in the US and Bulgaria in order to stimulate innovation, growth and development. She also shared ideas for joint initiatives with Teach for Bulgaria to support Bulgarian education.

The Consul General in New York Mr. Angel Angelov emphasized the importance of school education for the future of Bulgarian children and the need for additional training and stimulus for their teachers. In this context, strong support was expressed for initiatives such as Teach for Bulgaria, which contribute to the quality education of children in Bulgaria.
