Bulgarian National Stand at the Christmas Charity Bazaar of the Diplomatic Corps - Warsaw, December 8, 2019

On December 8, 2019, the traditional Diplomatic Corps Christmas Charity Bazaar was held at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw. The Christmas Charity Sale is organized annually by the Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM), under the patronage of the spouse of Polish President Mrs. Agatha Kornhauser - Duda, and aims to raise funds to help needy children, disadvantaged women and the elderly.

Conference "Bulgarian Studies - Past, Present and Future: Biographies, Circles, Institutions" was held in Poznan on November 18-19, 2019.

On November 18-19 of this year at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, with the participation of the Bulgarian Embassy, ​​an annual conference of Bulgarian scientists and teachers from Poland and Bulgaria was held on the topic: "Bulgarian Studies - Past, Present and Future: Biographies, Circles, Institutions". The conference was organized by the Slavic Institute of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Poznan, with the support of our Embassy in Warsaw, as part of the annual plan for the Communication Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union. The conference was met with great interest by the Bulgarian-Polish linguistic community, attracting over 60 participants from academic centers in Poland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

International Conference "Transformation in Central and Eastern Europe 1989 -2019: successes and failures"

At the invitation of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Warsaw, on October 24 and 25 this year, Warsaw hosted an international academic conference on the democratic development of Central and Eastern European countries 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of bloc confrontation. Prominent scientists and young political scientists from the countries of the former Eastern Bloc, USA and Western Europe and other countries were invited to participate in the conference. Bulgaria was represented by Associate Professor Plamen Ralchev, Head of the Department of International Relations at UNWE, as well as by young researchers Gergana Tosheva, Lyubomira Popova and Antoaneta Getova from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

On September 14, 2019, the new school year of the Bulgarian Sunday School "Dora Gabe" was opened in a festive setting in front of the Bulgarian Club in the Embassy Complex on 4 Bobrovietska Street in Warsaw. The ceremony was attended by Bulgarian Ambassador Emil Yalnazov, Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute Mrs. Kalina Stancheva, Embassy staff, teachers and parents.

During his visit to Warsaw on June 26th, Minister Krassimir Valchev visited the Bulgarian Embassy in Warsaw, where he held a meeting with Bulgarian-language educators in Poland, as well as teachers and parents from the Bulgarian “Dora Gabe” Sunday school. In the course of the discussion, issues related to the activities of the Bulgarian-language educators and the Bulgarian Sunday schools were discussed.
