On April 17, 2025, following Decision No. 130 of March 6 2025 by the Bulgarian Council of Ministers, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beirut and the Lebanese Heritage Foundation signed an agreement for the implementation of the project “Restoration of Sacred Icons: Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Making History Visible”. The project foresees restoration by a Bulgarian restorer of 10 liturgical Orthodox icons and as well as introducing the general Lebanese public to the art of Orthodox painting through exhibitions, lectures, open ended classes, etc. The aim of the project is to share Bulgarian experience in the specific field of icon restoration and icon painting, intensify contacts and strengthen the understanding of the spiritual and cultural-historical proximity between Bulgaria and Lebanon, which will help to further expand bilateral cultural dialogue and deepen bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.

On March 11, 2025, Ambassador Iassen Tomov presented his letters of credence to General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic. The special ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in the Baabda district of Beirut.

On March 3, 2025, at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Lebanese Republic gave a festive reception dedicated to the Liberation Day of Bulgaria – 3rd of March. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the newly elected President, parliamentarians, of the Prime Minister and the newly elected Government of Lebanon, by the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Information, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other state institutions, parliamentarian political forces, the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, local authorities, international organizations, civil society organizations and others.

On September 23, 2024, at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Beirut, an Additional Agreement was signed to the Grant Agreement dated 19.12.2022 between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Lebanese University - Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Production. The signing of the document aims at extending the deadline for the implementation of the project "Scientific cooperation between the Lebanese University and the University of Forestry in Sofia", related to the cultivation of mushrooms in Lebanon. The successful completion of the project, financed by the Bulgarian Development Aid, is of utmost importance for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of applied sciences, as well as for the bilateral relations as a whole.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of implementing a large-scale project, coordinated in advance with all responsible institutions in Bulgaria and the EU, including the implementation and launch of a new version of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria to Beirut launches as of 10.06.2024 a procedure for receipt, evaluation, selection, endorsement and implementation of Development Aid projects for 2025.   

On 29 May 2024 the Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut participated in the 2024 International Food Festival Initiative aimed at supporting Civil Society Organizations taking care about socially disadvantaged people. The initiative is hosted by the Diplomatic Spouses’ Association of Lebanon. The Bulgarian food stand presented to guests and participants elements of the traditional Bulgarian Cuisine.

On 28.05.2024 the Residence of the British Ambassador in Beirut hosted a special ceremony for the winners of the “Ambassador For a Day” competition.

During the period 21-25 May 2024, Bulgarian Development Aid Delegation, headed by Ms Iskra Angelova, Head (a.i.) of the Development Aid Directorate of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Lebanon for an on-site inspection and elaboration with current beneficiaries and relevant future partners, regarding ongoing and future cooperation.

On 24 and 25 May 2024 the Bulgarian Embassy hosted two events dedicated to the Day of the Saints Cyril and Methodius, and the Bulgarian Alphabet, education, culture and Slavic literature.
