12 March 2025 NewsOn March 11, 2025, Ambassador Iassen Tomov presented his letters of credence to General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic. The special ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in the Baabda district of Beirut.
On the background of the ever changing security landscape, the two interlocutors briefly touched on the important changes in Lebanon since the beginning of 2025, the complexity of the reforms ahead, as well as the visit of President Rumen Radev to Lebanon in April 2019.
The Bulgarian Embassy was represented also by the Military, Naval and Air Attache, Col. Miroslav Ivanov, the Head of the Political Department, Mr. Milen Spasov, and the Head of the Trade and Economic Relations Department, Mr. Plamen Vassilev. The MoFAE of Lebanon was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mr. Youssef Rajji, and the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Hani Shemaiteli.
