Celebration of the National Day of the Republic of Bulgaria

On March 3, 2025, at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Lebanese Republic gave a festive reception dedicated to the Liberation Day of Bulgaria – 3rd of March. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the newly elected President, parliamentarians, of the Prime Minister and the newly elected Government of Lebanon, by the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Information, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other state institutions, parliamentarian political forces, the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, local authorities, international organizations, civil society organizations and others.

In his greeting remarks to the guests, Ambassador Iassen Tomov emphasized the complicated path of historical changes that our country has taken from 1878 to the present day, on the promising developments in Lebanon since the beginning of 2025,  the Ministerial declaration of the newly elected Lebanese government, adopted by the Parliament of Lebanon on 26.02.2025, and the exceptional chance for decisive reforms of the country, despite the ongoing uncertainty and turbulent changes in the regional geopolitical security landscape in 2024 and since the beginning of 2025. The determination of the Bulgarian Embassy in Beirut to work towards deepening and expanding the bilateral relations was declared.

The guests received Martenitsa and were introduced to the ancient Bulgarian tradition of the holiday – March 1, celebrated in Romania and Moldova, and in parts of the Republic of North Macedonia. The festive event took place at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.
