The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in the process of implementing a large-scale project, coordinated in advance with all responsible institutions in Bulgaria and the EU, including the implementation and launch of a new version of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).

On 1 July 2024 in the city of Baku, under the co-chairmanship of the Acting Minister of Energy Mr. Vladimir Malinov and Mr. Mejnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the VI meeting of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for Economic cooperation was held. Ambassador Ruslan Stoyanov participated in the meeting as part of the Bulgarian delegation.

On June 20, 2024, in Ashgabat, Ambassador Ruslan Stoyanov presented his credentials to the Speaker of the Mejlis /Parliament/ of Turkmenistan, Dunyagyozel Gulmanova, and officially took up his duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Turkmenistan, based in Baku. According to the local protocol practice, non-resident newly appointed ambassadors in Ashgabat are received by the Speaker of the National Parliament upon the order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

On May 16, 2024, in Baku, the National Social Security Institute /NSSI/ of the Republic of Bulgaria and the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed a Memorandum for cooperation in the field of social insurance services. At an official ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Ruslan Stoyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the document was signed by the Deputy-Governor of NSSI Mrs. Vesela Karaivanova-Nacheva, acting Governor of the Institute, and Mr. Himalay Mamishov, Chairman of the Board of the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan.

On November 25, 2023, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria took part in the International Christmas Charity Bazaar, organized by the spouses of the heads of the diplomatic missions in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

A culinary festival "Taste of Europe" was held for the first time in Baku on June 25, 2023. The event was organized by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan and the culinary group "Azeri Home Chef". The Embassy of Bulgaria in Baku took part with its stand and held a master class on the preparation of the traditional Bulgarian banitsa, the dish with which our country is represented in the "Taste of Europe" book published by the EU delegation in Azerbaijan.
