On February 22, 2023, the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rouslan Stoyanov, presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

Youth Sports Festival, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, was held on June 5th, 2022 in Baku. The Festival was hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Baku and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Bulgaria. Mrs. Mariana Vasileva - Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Mr. Nikolay Yankov - Ambassador of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan, Mr. Ruslan Rzayev - Deputy Chief of the European Department of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria Mr. Rauf Aliyev greeted the athletes and the over one thousand people in the audience. The opening ceremony continued with the national anthems of both countries and artistic performances, which included folklore dances from Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
