Dear compatriots, In connection with the Unification Day of Bulgaria, we would like to inform you that the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Yerevan will be closed on 07.09.2026.

To mark September 22—Independence Day of the Republic of Bulgaria—a special gala concert will be held at the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theater in Yerevan, bringing together the talents of Bulgaria and Armenia and highlighting the strength of cultural cooperation between the two friendly nations. The event is organized with the support of H.E. Nikola Nikolov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, and Maestro Plamen Kartaloff, Manager of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Armenia is pleased to announce that the direct Sofia–Yerevan–Sofia flight route will resume on 7 November 2026.

Today, 19 August 2026, a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry between the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On July 22, 2026, Nikola Nikolov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, met with Academician Professor Plamen Kartaloff, longtime director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, a distinguished director, opera manager, and educator, regarding the Embassy’s initiative to strengthen ties between the national opera and ballet theaters of Bulgaria and Armenia.

Today, July 21, 2026, Ambassador Nikola Nikolov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Poulev. The conversation focused on attracting new investments and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities to strengthen trade and economic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Armenia.

On July 6 2026, Nikola Nikolov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, held a meeting with Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Artur Hovhannisyan, Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in the Republic of Bulgaria, also attended the meeting.

The presentation of “Time Shelter,” the first Bulgarian novel to win the 2023 International Booker Prize for Literature, took place on June 27 during Newmag Publishing’s Summer Fest 2026 at Yeraz Park in Yerevan. This is Gospodinov’s second novel to be translated into Armenian, following the publication of “The Physics of Sorrow” in Armenia in 2022.

H.E. Mr. Nikola Nikolov received a Bulgarian delegation at the embassy, including representatives of the “Center for Entrepreneurship and Management Development in Bulgaria” Foundation and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 18th.
