On 3 November 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia, Nikola Nikolov, held a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Aram Vardevanyan.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for deepening bilateral relations, developing parliamentary cooperation, strengthening trade and economic ties, and Armenia’s path towards European integration.
The importance of the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Armenia, based on shared historical and cultural ties, was emphasised, as was the potential for their further development in the context of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Bulgaria, signed on May 3, 2026, in Yerevan.
Other issues discussed included regional security, the peace process in the South Caucasus, and matters of mutual interest relating to the resumption of the direct Sofia–Yerevan–Sofia air route.
The meeting was also attended, on the Armenian side, by Grisha Tamrazyan, Chair of the Armenia–Bulgaria Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Armenia.
