Meeting of Ambassador Margarita Ganeva with Mr. Jan Sarnowski, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw, Ms. Margarita Ganeva held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland Mr. Jan Sarnowski, whose aim was to get acquainted with the current financial and economic reform and policy of the Polish side for the stabilization of the economy after the pandemic, as well as for the opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation in the financial field, with special emphasis on the digitalization of the financial system and the fight against tax fraud.

Participation of Minister Hristo Bozukov at the Summit of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Three Seas Initiative

“Bulgaria has the potential to expand the production of vegetable protein, having good experience and traditions in this field”, stated by the Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozukov at the Summit of the Ministers of Agriculture of the countries of the Three Seas Initiative and the European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski, which is being held in Krakow, Poland. He also pointed out that field peas and legume grass play a leading role after legume crops. “Scientific units, specialized in legumes and cereals, carry out research and active selection activities, as a result of which Bulgaria has a significant number of sustainable varieties of legumes of its own, adapted to our climatic conditions," said  further Minister Bozukov.

Сelebration of Independence Day - September 22

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in cooperation with BuCI organized a solemn celebration of Independence Day - September 22, which took place in the prestigious in the Polish capital Warsaw "Palace of the Island", located in the park complex "Lazienki Krolewskie". This was the first official protocol event organized by the Bulgarian embassy after two years of restrictions in connection with the pandemic situation.

Minister Baltova signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Tourism between Bulgaria and Poland

The caretaker Minister of Tourism Assoc. Prof. Stela Baltova attended the opening of the International Tourism Exhibition in Poznan - Toursalon 2021, which took place between the 24th and the 26th of September. Minister Baltova participated in the official opening ceremony together with Andrzej Gut-Mostowi, Secretary of State for Tourism of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland. During the ceremony, the two signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland.

Participation of Minister Andrey Zhivkov in the P-TECC meeting in Warsaw

Nuclear energy is and will continue to be a significant factor in meeting the EU's ambitious decarbonisation and zero-carbon goals. This was stated by the Minister of Energy Andrey Zhivkov in the presence of the participants in the ministerial meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy and Climate Cooperation (P-TECC), which was held in the Polish capital Warsaw. Minister Zhivkov spoke at the forum within the panel dedicated to nuclear energy. In his speech, he emphasized the rich experience of our country in the safe and secure operation of nuclear facilities for the production of clean and affordable energy over the years. According to him, the nuclear sector continues to be a guarantee of energy security and independence, providing energy to businesses and households at competitive prices.

Prof. Tomasz Grodzski, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Warsaw, Mrs. Margarita Ganeva

On August 18, 2021, the President of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Prof. Tomasz Grodzski, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Warsaw, Mrs. Margarita Ganeva. During the talks the specific areas of mutual interest of the bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation in the foreign policy and foreign economic areas, the development of the bilateral cultural and tourist exchange were touched upon, opinions were exchanged on current international topics, incl. cooperation within the EU, NATO, etc. regional initiatives. Issues from the domestic political agenda in both countries were discussed. The Bulgarian Ambassador expressed his conviction that the establishment of the Friendship Group with the Republic of Poland in the new Bulgarian Parliament will be among the priorities. Ambassador Ganeva expressed gratitude to the Polish side for the good reception and attitude of Bulgarian citizens living, studying and working in Poland, and both interlocutors noted with satisfaction the smooth functioning of the Bulgarian community in Poland and the Polish community in Bulgaria.

On 24 June 2021 was held a meeting in the Ministry of Development, Labour and Technologies in Warsaw between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Poland, Mrs. Margarita Ganeva and state secretary and Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for the Tourism sector and the promotion of the Polish brand, Mr. Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, initiated by the Bulgarian side. Mr. Nikolay Kostov, advisor in the Bulgarian Embassy and head of the National Tourist Representation was also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Margarita Ganeva’s Visit to Lomza

On the 14th of June 2021, Ambassador Margarita Ganeva visited the town Lomza at the invitation of the local Mayor. The occasion was the 603rd anniversary of Lomza being declared a town. On this occasion, representatives of the twin towns were also invited. From the Bulgarian side were present the mayor of Pavlikeni Mr. Emanuil Manolov and Mr. Doncho Zahariev from Tryavna. During the visit, the Bulgarian Ambassador was part of the country’s representation as a tourist destination, which took place in the Centre of Tourist and Cultural Activities in Loma. It was specially prepared by the National Representation for Tourism at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Warsaw. Ambassador Ganeva welcomed the representatives of the Polish tourist firms and media outlets. She also presented the perspectives for development in the bilateral relations in the field of tourism.
