Celebrating 81 years since the Treblinka death camp uprising

On August 2, 2024, the 81st anniversary of the Treblinka death camp uprising was marked. The event was organized by the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, in cooperation with the Treblinka Museum. https://muzeumtreblinka.eu/en/informacje/treblinka-ii/
The anniversary ceremony was held in front of the Central Monument to the Victims of Treblinka. The event was opened by Dr. Michal Trebac, Director of the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute. Addresses on the occasion of the anniversary were read on behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, the President of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Małgorzata Kidawa-Błonska; the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland Hanna Wróblewska, the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw Rafal Trzaskowski, and others. The Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, Martin Baksa, also addressed the attendees.
Representatives of state, local and church authorities, the diplomatic corps, cultural institutions and Jewish communities laid wreaths and lit candles in front of the Central Monument to the Victims of the Death Camp.
A representative of the Bulgarian Embassy in Warsaw also attended the ceremony and laid a wreath.
