On June 6, 2024, at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, H.E. Ms. Margarita Ganeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Poland, and Prof. Dr. Andrzej Sheptycki, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Minister of Science of the Republic of Poland in the field of science and higher education for the period 2024 - 2027. The solemn ceremony was attended by representatives of the Directorate for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, the Directorate for European Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Deputy Minister Sheptytsky and Ambassador Ganeva made statements in which they expressed their satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral cooperation in the field of science and higher education, based on the intergovernmental Agreement on Scientific and Cultural Cooperation concluded in 1993 and the periodically signed Programs for Cooperation between the relevant ministries. Emphasis was placed on the existing permanent contacts between Bulgarian and Polish higher education institutions and the intensive exchange of researchers, students and postgraduates. The Bulgarian side noted the over 100-year tradition of Bulgarian studies in Poland, as well as the deep roots of cultural and scientific ties between Bulgaria and Poland.

After the signing ceremony, bilateral talks were held, during which the state and prospects for the development of scientific and educational exchange between the two countries were discussed.
