During the visit, she held a meeting with the Mayor of the city, Mr. Nanning Mol, as well as with representatives of the Twinning Foundation Doredrecht-Varna, who actively work to develop the ties between the two cities.
During the discussions, opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Dordrecht and Varna were explored, including in the fields of economy, tourism, and cultural exchange. Ambassador Varbanova underlined the importance of the good relations between Bulgaria and the Netherlands and the need to further deepen contacts between people and institutions.
As part of her visit, the Ambassador also visited the Dordrecht Library, which maintains relations with the Public Library in Varna and develops initiatives for international cultural exchange. On this occasion, Ambassador Varbanova donated 25 books by prominent Bulgarian authors, provided by the Bulgarian Hermes Publishing House, thus enriching the Bulgarian-language section of the library.
The Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude to Hermes Publishing House for the donation and for its support in promoting Bulgarian literature and culture in the Netherlands.
During the visit, Ambassador Verbanova also met with young Bulgarian entrepreneurs who recently opened their own café in Dordrecht and visited several of the city’s historical landmarks.
