The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Ms. Elizabeth Varbanova presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands, at an official ceremony which took place on the 17th of December 2025 at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.

As part of the official ceremony, a bilateral meeting was held between H.M. King Willem-Alexander and Ambassador Elizabeth Varbanova, during which a wide range of current foreign policy issues were discussed, including challenges to European security with a focus on the Black Sea region and along the Eastern flank, energy and economic security, connectivity issues, military mobility, migration, EU enlargement, social cohesion, and the demography of European societies. The cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of the Netherlands within the EU and NATO was discussed, and a shared willingness to deepen and expand bilateral relations was expressed.
