On the occasion of the Unification Day – a public holiday in Bulgaria,the Embassy and Consular Office will be closed on 6 September 2013 (Friday).

Due to the translator’s absence, the Embassy will not be able tooffer translation services during the period starting from 12 July 2013 until 16August 2013, both days included.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Greece says that on May 1 2013, declared by the Greek government to be a working day, the Pan-Hellenic Confederation of Workers and the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation intend to conduct 24-hour strikes. Throughout the day, from a minute past midnight to 12am, it is expected that all ports in Greece will not be working.

Following the talks on April 26 between Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Marin Raykov and Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, administrative and police authorities in northern Greece have decided, in view of the upcoming Easter holidays, to permit as of this afternoon the passage through Zlatograd-Xanthi border checkpoint of passenger vans carrying up to 15 people for tourism, so as not to hinder the free movement of people in the region.

In connection with the protests planned by Greek farmers, it is expected that there will be daily blockades of the national road network. The planned blockades will be held every day from 2pm to 3pm on the Thessaloniki – Athens highway and on the national road network in northern Greece – the Egnatia motorway, for now only by people, without the use of agricultural machinery.

According to Greek authorities, it is expected that this week there will be an escalation of the protests by Greek farmers and it is possible that there will be blockades of major road arteries in the country
