CONSULAR SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CONSULAR SECTION AT THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN COPENHAGEN
At the Consular Section you can: apply for issuing/renewal of Bulgarian Identity Documents, declare lost/stolen/damaged Bulgarian Identity Documents, receive your new Bulgarian Identity Documents, have your signature on a document notarized (for documents that are not subject to entry in the Bulgarian Registry Agency). You can apply for a visa, receive a Bulgarian criminal record certificate, register civic events (birth, marriage, death) and also apply for acquisition, restoration or renunciation of Bulgarian citizenship.

The listed visiting hours apply to the official working days of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Copenhagen.
Visits to the Consular Section are by appointment only! You can schedule an appointment via the embassy’s telephone lines (+4539630001 and +4539630003) during the listed telephone hours or via email: [email protected].

Payment of owed fees or fines is carried out, without exception, cashless via a POS terminal. The fees owed to the Consular Section can be paid via Dankort/Visa/Visa Electron/VPay/MasterCard/Maestro/JCB/Unionpay.

Visa for Bulgaria
Since 1 January 2007, the Republic of Bulgaria has been applying the European Union’s Common Visa Policy, subject to the terms of the Accession Treaty.

Important: Holders of valid multiple-entry Schengen visas, holders of a valid Danish Residence Permit (Opholdstilladelse)/Travel Document (Rejsedokument)/Alien’s Passport (Fremmedpas) have the right to travel to the Republic of Bulgaria visa-free for a period of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period from the date of the first entry, within the validity of their visa/residence permit.
Notarial Services
According to Art. 84. of the Bulgarian Notaries and Notarial Practice Act, Bulgarian consular officials abroad can, in compliance with the respective provisions of the Civil Procedure Code, certify the date, the contents and the signatures on a private document, created in Bulgarian and presented by a Bulgarian citizen and foreign national, only if the said document is not subject to entry in the Bulgarian Registry Agency and is intended to act in the Republic of Bulgaria. Acquiring Bulgarian Citizenship
Foreign nationals can submit documents for obtaining Bulgarian Citizenship to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Embassy’s Consular Section upon meeting the respective legal requirements.

Certificate for return to the Republic of Bulgaria
The certificate for return to the Republic of Bulgaria of a foreigner is issued by the diplomatic and consular representations to a person without citizenship or to a foreigner granted protection in the Republic of Bulgaria who has lost abroad his/her Bulgarian identity document (foreigner's card with humanitarian status; foreigner's temporary card; certificate for travel abroad of a foreigner with humanitarian status; certificate for travel abroad of a person without citizenship).
