On December 13, 2019, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Rumen Alexandrov conducted a working visit to Leeuwarden at the invitation of the King’s Commissioner for Friesland Mr. Arno Brok. The aim of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between Bulgaria and the Netherlands, including at municipality level, in order to increase mutually beneficial investments, share good practices, strengthen bilateral contacts in the field of education, cultural diplomacy and people-to-people contacts.

During the visit, a presentation on the investment climate in Bulgaria was held, as well as a working visit to the European Center of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology - Wetsus. In addition, Ambassador Alexandrov visited the University of Applied Sciences NHL Stenden, where he had the opportunity to talk to a group of Bulgarian students studying there, as well as at universities in the neighboring Dutch province of Groningen.
