Temporary suspension of routine consular services between 10th and 18th August 2024

We would like to inform you that in the period between 10th August 2024 and 18th August 2024 there will be a pre-planned software update and maintenance of the digital system used by the consulates of the Republic of Bulgaria abroad (including the Consulate in The Hague).
In connection with this, the routine reception of applications for the issuance/renewal of Bulgarian identity documents and visa applications shall be suspended for the above-mentioned period. No notarial services will be provided and no applications related to Bulgarian citizenship procedures will be processed.
Exceptions will only be allowed for the issuance of temporary passports to Bulgarian citizens and the provision of notarial services:
- in humanitarian cases (when the life and/or health of Bulgarian or foreign nationals are endangered); or
- when the applicant provides sufficient proof of exceptional circumstances (force majeure); or
- when there are serious personal reasons for the journey or the for provision of the notarial service.
On behalf of the Embassy, we express our readiness and willingness to offer alternative visiting options to all Bulgarian and foreign nationals who had already booked an appointment for the above-mentioned period.
