On 28 June 2025 Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado paid a visit to the Bulgarian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Together with H.E. Ms. Marieta Arabadjieva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Japan, and Mr. Georgi Kostov, Director of the Bulgarian Pavilion, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado experienced immersive demonstration, presenting Bulgaria’s beautiful nature, rich culture and present-day achievements in innovation and technology. Princess Takamado met also Lactochan - the official Bulgarian mascot at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

On 14 April 2021 at a ceremony held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo H.E. Ms. Marieta Arabadjieva presented to His Majesty Emperor Naruhito the Letters accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Japan.

Message by Heads of Mission of the European Union and its Member States, as well as of Norway and Switzerland on the occasion of the European and World Day against the Death Penalty

Today is the European and World Day against the Death Penalty. This has been marked in Europe by a Joint Declaration by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Secretary of the Council of Europe. Ambassadors to Japan of the European Union and its Member States, together with the Ambassadors of Norway and Switzerland commend the declaration, and have agreed the following message:
