Both sides noted the fruitful relations between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. Ambassador Stoytchev emphasized the excellent cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the City of Westminster and expressed his gratitude for the permission granted by Westminster to construct the Bulgarian orthodox church and to open polling stations and the provided support for the different elections.

Both the host and guest focused on the establishment of the first Bulgarian Orthodox church on the territory of the UK, the construction of which is expected to be completed in February next year. An invitation was extended to Lord Mayor Rigby to attend the opening ceremony.

During the conversation, various initiatives were discussed to mark the contribution of the Bulgarian community in numerous aspects of the life in London. It was emphasized that the Bulgarian community is among the largest in the UK and is very well integrated as an active economic and social participant in British everyday life.
