“The challenges of digitalisation in healthcare, highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, open up exciting new opportunities for bilateral cooperation between technological and IT companies from Bulgaria and Sweden. This promising new area of cooperation could be built upon the existing successful collaborations between Bulgarian and Swedish IT companies in areas such as data storage and data management solutions, digitalization and standardization of business processes, payment gateways and payment data processing, cyber security and AI”. With these words the Bulgarian ambassador in Stockholm, Ivan Pavlov, addressed the participants in a webinar on the prospects of the Bulgarian-Swedish cooperation in digital healthcare.

The digital seminar was held on September 21, 2021 and was co-organized by the Economic and Trade Office of the Bulgarian Embassy in Stockholm and the Swedish-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in Sofia. 30 representatives of Bulgarian and Swedish technological and IT companies, business clusters and associations took part in the event, including Digital Health and Innovations Cluster Bulgaria, as well as the largest healthcare exhibition in Scandinavia, Vitalis 2022, which in May 2022, for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, will open its doors to international companies, including companies from Bulgaria.
