Among the key topics discussed was the upcoming working meeting of the Eastern European Group (EEG), which Bulgaria will chair in January 2026. The UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications accepted the invitation to be a special guest at the event.

During the meeting, Bulgaria reaffirmed its support for the UN Global Communications Strategy, as well as the country’s active role in promoting human rights and combating disinformation.

Melissa Fleming underscored the crucial importance of communication in the “UN80” reform, aimed at making the Organization more effective, transparent, and open, with a particular focus on engaging young people.
