The Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations, Ambassador Gergana Karadjova, held a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Lok Bahadur Thapa, in his capacity as President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The President of ECOSOC congratulated Ambassador Karadjova on her appointment and welcomed her to the diplomatic community in New York. He presented the priorities of his presidency:
- Transforming agriculture to eradicate hunger; • Digitalization; • Youth engagement; • Strengthening action on climate and climate change; • Reform of the international financial institutions.
The Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations, Ambassador Gergana Karadjova, expressed support for the efforts and priorities of the ECOSOC Presidency, noting that many of them are of particular importance to Bulgaria as well. Both diplomats expressed readiness for future cooperation. During the meeting, issues of a general nature were also discussed, including United Nations reform and current international developments.
