On December 14, 2023, for the second year, the jazz band "The Shrinks" was at the center of the pre-Christmas party at the Consulate General, which brought together many Bulgarians and Americans. For two hours, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy the virtuoso improvisations of the musicians, who are psychologists and neurologists by profession. The jazz rhythms of "The Shrinks" left an unforgettable experience for those present, including adults and children.

By tradition, before the event, the Consul General welcomed the guests and informed that the previous consul Lyubomira Georgieva had successfully completed her posting and her important functions were taken over by Daniela Sirakova, also a career diplomat with experience in both the USA and Afghanistan and in the region of Southeast Europe.

In his speech, Consul General Angel Angelov pointed out that the art and in particular the music not only entertains, but above all it unites, inspires and makes us better. In this context, he informed the attendees about the participation of the Consulate General of Bulgaria in an initiative of the Association of Consul Generals in New York and the City Hall of New York to collect winter clothes for the most in need in New York and called everyone to join the charitable cause.
