On November 16, 2023, the traditional International Food Festival organized by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York (SOFC) took place. For another consecutive year, the Consulate General participated in the event, in which 16 countries were represented.

The guests were welcomed by the President of SOFC Ms. Amna Binzaal Almheiri, Consul General of the UAE, and by Mr. Reyhan Ozgur, Consul General of Turkey who hosted the event.

Bulgarian wines, homemade brandy from Dobruja, fillo pastry (banitsa) and a variety of traditional Bulgarian dry meats were presented at the festival.

There was a cultural program at the event. Bulgaria was one of the four countries that took part in it. The folklore ensemble Gorana Dance led by Elissaveta Iordanova impressed the guests with the beautiful Bulgarian folk dances.
